Toy Story 3.
Another great film from Pixar. Unlike Dreamworks, Pixar films have a solid plot, well developed characters, and don't rely on current events to make jokes. These are all the things that make a film so rewatchable, and stand the test of time!
It didn't occur to me when we decided to see Toy Story 3 (in 3D), that I hadn't seen Toy Story 1 or 2.
The story stood up on it's own so I don't think it really mattered, but Reid assured me there were plenty of jokes that would have made sense if I had seen the first two.
Andy, the toy owner has grown up and is heading off to college, he hasn't played with his toys in years, despite the best efforts of the toys to grab his attention. The toys are then mistakenly donated to a day care centre, instead of being put in storage in the attic. At first day care seems to the ultimate dream for the toys, lots of kids to play with them all day long, but that doesn't turn out to be the case, and the great escape begins.
That's 99% on the tomatometer
It was a great story, with plenty of laughs, and lots of highs and lows on the journey.
Overall Impression: fantastic movie
Rating: 4/5
