Gingerlee - Lygon Street

This place sounded so promising but just didn't deliver

Reid's bacon and sausages were well over cooked. I had a potato and poached egg dish - but it came with some unusual extras and the flavours clashed a bit - cooked spinach, onions, and gherkins.

To be fair we both had nicely poached eggs - so credit where credit's due!

For the quality of food the price was pretty high - $18 each for our food

Bread and Butter

One of the things I missed about living in Camberwell was our regular cafe - Bread and Butter!

We came here on so many weekends for breakfast right before heading to the grocery shop!

I was sure they had some miracle machine for making perfect poached eggs - every single time without fail they would be the exact right consistency!

Today I'm back out at Camberwell shopping with Mum so we've popped into Bread and Butter for lunch. Much to my horror - the eggs aren't perfect

Disappoint!

Out for breakfast with Mum

Mum's over for a short shopping trip so we popped out for breakfast at A Minor Place. Excellent as always - great coffee and tasty funky food!

Fix Espresso Bar

Quick lunch at Fix Espresso - its pretty quiet in here.

The menu is eggs - how ever you like, with extras or whatever - they just whip up what ever you fancy on their little gas cooker

The food and coffee was ok, not the best, but by no means the worst!

Marriage Equality

We're such nerds - we just watched the live broadcast of the Labor Party Conference debate on marriage equality! Even though they supported the amendment to have a conscience vote, they more importantly supported a change to the party platform in support of marriage equality! WAHOO!! It was kinda neat to watch actual political change in action!! It was amazing to see the overwhelming support for marriage equality. YAY

Let's vote

I'd say the Lincolnshire Arms Hotel has the WORST.PARMA.EVER!!

No ham. I'm pretty sure they took a frozen chicken schnitzel from the Coles across the road and somehow sliced it in half! Tomato - of the runny variety, not the sauce variety.

For added value crap chips and supermarket steamed veg. And when I say steamed I'm mean defrosted!

All for the extreme price of $22!! AND you have to book a table! Why is this place so popular?

Brother Alex

We were a bit naughty leaving the house right on lunch time with an empty tummy! It was inevitable that we'd end up eating out for lunch and sure enough here we are at Brother Alex in Thornbury. One silver lining is we're actually eating out somewhere closer to where we might end up buying

Reid had chorizo and scrambled eggs with garlic mushrooms and I had the breakfast roll - bacon omelette in Turkish bread

Food and coffee was really nice, cute little place, staff v friendly.

Brunch at Cafe Rosamond

Great coffee and the bread and butter combo was sooo tasty!

I had scrambled eggs and bacon and Reid had the BLT!

Really nice atmosphere, would go again :-)

Cumulus Inc

Fab b'day dinner with Reid! Some unusual dishes - octopus with dehydrated olives was the winner :-)

City to Sea

Mich and I completed the inaugural Melbourne City to Sea run today! It was a bit tough going for me, 2 blister stops and a toilet stop so our time was a bit disappointing!

None the less we did it! Well done us :-)

Then we battled our way through traffic back to Essendon for lunch at Cafe Denaro

Lexi's hair is getting so long and curly!

China Red

Reid & I had dinner out at China Red. We ordered plate loads of dumplings - although only managed to salvage 2 Xiao Long Bao

We sat beside 2 ladies on a "family" holiday from Adelaide - a weekend away from their families just to go shopping! Dreamy!

Pope Jone

Pope Jone is such a great café!!

The food is always amazing and so well presented and the staff are all really friendly!

Here with Reid for a lazy late lunch! Reid had his favourite coddled eggs and black pudding. I had perfect poached eggs with beautiful feta!

Eat Drink Man Woman

Out for breakie with Reid. The menu sounded promising but the food was a bit average!

The tomato with Reid's baked eggs was very sweet and my scrambled eggs were oily!!

Also the food took ages to come out!
